Survey Study on Chinese University Students' Perceptions of the Political Systems of China and the United States: Using as Examples Five Key Universities in Beijing, Including Peking (Beijing) University and Tsinghua (Qinghua) University
Shengluo, Chen
Chinese Education and Society, v44 n2-3 p13-57 Mar-Apr/May-Jun 2011
Through surveys of students at Beijing University, Qinghua University, and other institutions, this article finds that today, twenty years after the political disturbance in 1989 and despite the long-term and unremitting efforts made by the Chinese government, China's college students still take a better view of the U.S. political system than they do of the Chinese political system. Based on the figures obtained during the surveys, this article also conducts in-depth analyses of the various factors that affect the perceptions of China's college students about the Chinese and U.S. political systems. (Contains 17 tables and 9 notes.)
