Making Pop Bottle Rockets
Lowe, Graham
Primary Science Review, n87 p23-25 Mar-Apr 2005
Teaching about forces provides a good opportunity to encourage children to start thinking about energy transfer. Children come into the classroom with a number of ideas about the nature of energy. These often become apparent when eliciting their ideas about forces, particularly when discussing "push" and "pull". In this article, the author describes how to make pop bottle rockets to introduce children to the concept of energy transfers. (Contains 2 figures.)
