The Digital Microscope! That Belongs in Key Stage 2, Doesn't It?
Evans, Sarah; Dunne, Mick
Primary Science Review, n93 p4-7 May-Jun 2006
In this article, a trainee teacher explores the value of using novel digital equipment with very young children. She describes a classroom-based study designed to address these questions: (1) How do very young children react to and engage with the digital microscope in a science-based activity?; (2) How would the foundation-stage leader, reception-class teacher and teaching assistant react to seeing this piece of equipment used with the children?; and (3) Does the digital microscope have a place in foundation-stage teaching and learning? (Contains 4 figures.)
