Tapu-ae: A Dynamic Game Requiring Minimal Equipment and Maximum Participation
Hushman, Glenn
Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, v24 n6 p20-22 Jul-Aug 2011
Activities and games in physical education should strive to promote maximum participation, develop skill, address fitness needs, and enhance student enjoyment of physical activity. Physical education teachers have good intentions, but often do not have the funding or facilities to provide students with games and activities that meet these goals. This article will describe the game of Tapu-ae, which requires only a handful of cones and a few different kinds of balls, yet offers a fast-paced, exciting, and extremely modifiable game that students grades 5-12 can play outdoors or indoors.
