Lindeman, Cheryl A.
NCSSSMST Journal, v16 n1 p38-39 Fall 2010
Teachers enjoy the benefits of having former students return into their lives. With today's social media the connections are instant and/or searchable. This author is one that makes an effort to stay in touch with graduates, finding that during the reconnection process she learns many things about their adventures, research, and views on life. She calls it authentic continuing education! In this article, Lindeman stresses the value of using the experiences and skill sets of alumni to reach teachers' current students. Their messages can be powerful connections to the world beyond high school.
