Variables that Affect Math Teacher Candidates' Intentions to Integrate Computer-Assisted Mathematics Education (CAME)

Based on Social Cognitive Carier Theory (SCCT) (Lent, Brown, & Hackett, 1994, 2002), this study tested the effects of mathematics teacher candidates' self-efficacy in, outcome expectations from, and interest in CAME on their intentions to integrate Computer-Assisted Mathematics Education (CAME). While mathematics teacher candidates' outcome expectations affect their CAME intentions directly and indirectly, their self-efficacy beliefs affected their intentions by means of outcome expectations and interests in CAME. The findings of this study suggested mathematics teacher candidates' expectations and interests. The findings from this study can be beneficial for studies to improve mathematics teacher candidates in the frame of CAME. Math teacher candidates will be more willing and more interested in CAME as their interests in and awareness towards CAME increases. (Contains 2 tables.)
