The Impact of Visual Disability on the Quality of Life of Older Persons in Rural Northeast Thailand
La Grow, Steven; Sudnongbua, Supaporn; Boddy, Julie
Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness, v105 n6 p361-369 Jun 2011
A high rate of self-reported visual disability was found among a sample of persons aged 60 and older in the course of a study that assessed the impact of feelings of abandonment among older persons in a remote rural area in northeast Thailand (Sudnongbua, La Grow, & Boddy, 2010). This study assessed the impact of self-reported visual disability on the quality of life of older persons in rural northeast Thailand. It found that those with a visual disability were worse off on 3 of 11 quality-of-life measures than were those who were sighted. (Contains 1 table.)
