Advocacy in Reading: To Be or Not to Be an Advocate?
McDonald, Lonnie R.
Reading Improvement, v47 n2 p71-73 Sum 2010
How does one move graduate candidates into "advocates"? The journey started with researching study groups to build collaboration, then to an understanding of "advocacy" and its uses, finally the act of becoming advocates for a cause. The ultimate gain was the professional growth observed in the graduate candidates and a resourceful effort to change the lives of children between birth and five years of age through good, frequent oral reading.
