A Triumphant Global Crusade of Contemporary Era: The Impact of the English Language on Education
Sinagatullin, Ilghiz M.
International Journal of Educational Reform, v18 n4 p300-310 Fall 2009
Contemporary humankind is witnessing the spread and impact of the English language on the global educational space. Such an influx is occurring irrespective of people's objective or subjective will. English has become a vital means for accessing and acquiring information and knowledge about the world. It promotes the reformation of language policies in a considerable number of non-English-speaking countries, and it facilitates the international exchange of students, teachers, and faculty. The current epoch is prompting us to take a cross-cultural look at the phenomenon of the English language and how it elicits the reorganizations of educational matters on both sides of the Gulf Stream. It is exactly what I seek to examine and analyze in this study.
