Picture Perfect: Using Photo-Voice to Explore Four Doctoral Students' Comprehensive Examination Experiences

A lack of critical inquiry is evident in the counselor education literature as it relates to doctoral students experiencing their examinations in a counselor education program. The researchers of this study used a relatively new data collection method, photo-voice, to creatively explore and capture their experience of the comprehensive exam. The results of this study produced a visual depiction of the experiences and provided insight and understanding regarding this phenomenon. Implications of these findings for counselor-educators and doctoral students are addressed. (Contains 12 figures.)
