Middle school students are not always aware of how much consumer goods actually cost. But, in light of recent financial difficulties in the community and around the country, it has been hard to miss the fact that most people have been cutting back and/or bargain hunting. In this article, the author describes a lesson wherein students draw and display items that someone might find at a real yard sale. This lesson provides students with an opportunity to incorporate real-world financial practices and lessons into their artwork. (Contains 1 online resource.)
