Tripp, Paula J.
Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences, v102 n1 p58-59 2010
This article describes "Training for Strong Families," a family strengthening program for officers working in the state prison system. The program was offered once per week on the same day and at the same time, and the sessions lasted 15-20 minutes. The new program included topics such as Budgeting 101, Relationships, and Stress Management. Author-developed print materials that reinforced the oral presentation were distributed during each session. The program continues to be offered, and an instrument yielding confidential and anonymous feedback regarding the usefulness and effectiveness of the program has been developed for future sessions.
