Implications for Collaboration: An Investigation with School Counselors and School Psychologists
Guess, Pamela E.; Gillen, Mark C.; Woitaszewski, Scott E.
Journal of School Counseling, v4 n24 2006
Collaboration is an interactive process that has become mandated as a part of educational decision-making. School counselors and school psychologists are now guided by professional principles that advocate interdisciplinary collaboration. This study identified activities for which these professionals currently collaborated with each other, as well as desired activities for collaboration. Demographic factors that appeared related to amounts of collaboration were also identified. Years of experience, gender, and administrative support were factors that significantly influenced collaboration. Implications for school practitioners are discussed. (Contains 2 tables.)
