Indicators for the Evaluation of Environmental Education, Interpretation and Information in Protected Areas

By petition of the regional government of the Balearic Islands (Spain), the authors of this article evaluated activities of environmental education, interpretation, and information carried out in the most important protected areas of these islands. The following is a presentation of the model of the evaluation that was developed. Based on the results of this evaluation, a set of indicators applicable to the analysis of the communicative function in protected areas is proposed. (Contains 2 figures, 1 table and 1 footnote.)
