Preparing School Principals for a Diverse and Changing World
Davila, Gilbert
Educational Considerations, v37 n1 p53-55 Fall 2009
All students have the right to a quality education. At the same time, future principals will likely face the challenge of educating the most diverse student body since the turn of the 20th century. In this commentary, the author provides principals, new and experienced, with the means to navigate successfully the challenges of meeting the educational needs of children from an increasingly diverse student population. He stresses that principals must become inclusive leaders and change agents who are interculturally competent. He shares some tips on how elementary and secondary school principals should prepare themselves for a diverse and changing world.
