Student Retention, Deferred Tuition Payments--A Positive Combination
Burgess, Nancy
Community College Journal, v74 n5 p40-43 Apr-May 2004
The 1,175 community colleges in the U.S. share in two key objectives--retaining students by helping them to be successful and keeping college affordable for students. As a community college financial administrator the author knew a little about retention, but she had no idea there may be a correlation between student retention and finances until her experience at Prince George's Community College (PGCC). In this article, the author discusses how PGCC found a way to help achieve both objectives with an outsourced tuition payment plan. (Contains 2 tables and 1 figure.)
