Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC)
Notar, Charles; Riley, Gena; Thornburg, Roland; Owens, Lynetta; Harper, Cynthia
Education, v130 n1 p129-132 Fall 2009
The College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) provides an environment in which all students can learn. The term "students" encompasses anyone enrolled in a course provided by the College. The DAC was formed to protect the health, safety, and general welfare of students, educators, and those who participate in conjunction with the College programs. The DAC is a standing committee within the CEPS to whom allegations of academic or professional misconduct are directed. It outlines objective standards of conduct for students, and clearly defines actions of an unethical nature for which disciplinary action is justified. The purpose of the DAC committee is to handle disciplinary problems which may arise that would warrant the dismissal from the CEPS certification and other programs. Alleged violations of the Scholar's Code of Ethics are reviewed by the DAC.
