Faces of Faith: Reflections on Examples of Plurality in a Swedish RE Classroom

This article illuminates how religious education worked when students posed questions to believing guests in a Swedish upper secondary classroom, which was homogeneous concerning ethnic origin. The guests invited to school represented four religious traditions but they also represented themselves. Their messages, as well as the questions posed by students, were very different from each other, which is interesting in relation to the discourse of plurality. Plurality of faith in this case is discussed in relation to pre-modern, modern and post-modern conditions. (Contains 2 tables.)
