Carla Wade
Shore, Joel
T.H.E. Journal, v36 n8 p14-16 Sep 2009
This article profiles Carla Wade, a former science teacher who has shown a passion for teaching educators the most effective ways to integrate technology. Her use of a video microscope during a classroom science lesson revealed to Wade how technology can awaken students' interest in learning. Wade discovered years ago how to talk teachers out of their fears of their own inabilities: One could say Wade would make them an argument they couldn't refute. Now, as a technology education specialist at the Oregon Department of Education, Wade turned her enjoyment of dispelling teachers' fears into a career-making passion for professional development.
