Rewards for Good Marketing

Many professional library associations and affiliates "strongly encourage" the marketing of libraries and their wares. These organizations present awards, certificates, and monetary enticements to honor outstanding marketing programs. For most individuals or teams who are already working on and implementing marketing programs, the added effort of applying for these acknowledgements adds the possibility of being doubly rewarded for marketing. Take advantage of these opportunities and let one's marketing projects shine even brighter. This article discusses how to submit applications for public relation awards and presents some professional library organizations that promote awards for good marketing strategies, and provide a monetary incentive with a plaque and/or citation for the accomplishment.
