Combining Emerging Technology and Writing across the Curriculum: Professional Development that Works!

Though Writing Across the Curriculum is not a new concept, Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute offers a two-semester professional development program that combines this instructional approach with emerging technology. Though this program focuses on the use of writing to enhance student learning, this training format can be universally applied to a variety of curriculum topics and/or learning concepts to better meet the needs of twenty-first century learners. In addition to the impact this program has had on student learning, this initiative also provides faculty a unique opportunity for growth and professional enrichment.
