FCS Undergrads at Mississippi State Learn Research Process
Worthy, Sheri L.
Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences, v101 n3 p47-48 2009
Understanding the research process is a vital part of the undergraduate experience. Conducting research helps students see the value of the scientific process and various research methods, and encourages inquisitiveness about family and consumer sciences (FCS) issues. Research experiences augment students' professional development, increase their likelihood of attending graduate school, and encourage lifelong learning. In this article, the author discusses how students in the Family Resource Management class at Mississippi State University (MSU) work in groups to complete a research project based on a resource management topic from class lectures or textbooks.
