When the Music Stops: Releasing the Dream
Duffey, Thelma
Journal of Creativity in Mental Health, v1 n3-4 p1-23 2005
We each carry hopes, dreams, and visions of what our lives and relationships will look like. However, there are times when, in spite of our best efforts, these dreams remain unrealized. This manuscript addresses some unique issues faced by individuals experiencing a dream's death. Although the process described in this manuscript may be experienced by people undergoing diverse losses, this work details the loss experience as it relates to releasing relationships we value. An intervention using popular music is used to illustrate this process.
