The Role of Proof in Mathematics and Mathematics Education
Lutzer, Carl V.
PRIMUS, v15 n4 p374-384 Dec 2005

Though symptomatic of emotional reaction to difficulty, at its heart this is a legitimate question and it deserves a legitimate answer. This article offers one such answer from a practical point of view.
