Section 8: Affordable Housing for Exceptional Families
Wright, Wesley E.
Exceptional Parent, v39 n3 p86-88 Mar 2009
Shelter is a basic human need. Unfortunately, affordable housing is a need that low income families who are caring for children and adults with disabilities can rarely afford without assistance. Because participating families generally pay rent of no more than 30 percent of their adjusted monthly income, the Section 8 program can provide much-needed assistance. In this article, the author talks about the Section 8 program and presents a technical primer for those who want to know more about this useful program.
