Modernity and Empire: A Modest Analysis of Early Colonial Writing Practices
Jeyaraj, Joseph
College Composition and Communication, v60 n3 p468-492 Feb 2009

This essay explains the manner in which some students internalized modernity and in their writings used modernist beliefs and premises to critique some precolonial Indian discourses.
