Examining Work Engagement and Job Satisfaction of Staff Members in Higher Education
Hermsen, Jill; Rosser, Vicki
CUPA-HR Journal, v59 n2 p10-18 Fall-Win 2008
Staff members are a large and growing set of employees within higher education. While their numbers are growing, they also are seeing a change in their salaries and working conditions. Given this situation, institutions are considering work engagement and job satisfaction research. The purpose of this article is to examine those work life perceptions, identity issues and demographic and profile characteristics that explain the work engagement and job satisfaction of higher education staff members.
