Disarming Contankerous People: Coping with Difficult Personalities in ECE Work Settings
Hernandez, Luis; Smith, Connie Jo
Exchange: The Early Childhood Leaders' Magazine Since 1978, n185 p12-14 Jan-Feb 2009
Difficult personalities come in a variety of roles in just about every setting. While types have been identified in the typical corporate and business culture, difficult work personalities also inhabit the world of early childhood education (ECE) workplaces. Because difficult people have an impact on workplace morale and productivity, the topic has led to research and analysis, all with a popular bent on how to avoid bodily harm to those that make people miserable. This article presents the seven difficult types of people, reasons why other people should understand them, and ways to deal with them. (Contains 7 resources.)
