The Effects of Collaborative Planning on Achievement Testing: A Story

The Environment Bola Catlionor Junior High is brand new school located in a remote area of southwest Oklahoma. Research has revealed that many students here are gifted in a variety of areas: content areas, art, riding, steering, wrangling, sports, gardening, hunting, and fishing. The Serengheti Public Library is located in the city square and houses around 12,000 books. The library's new media specialist, Mrs. Maverick, has planned to collaborate with the architects, the school district, teachers, and other library media specialists to determine the best use of space in order to create a kid-friendly learning environment. This article presents the story of Mrs. Maverick's collaboration with the district's faculty. The students' test scores had improved greatly as a result of the successful collaboration between Mrs. Maverick and the faculty.
