Community Colleges--The Center of the Workforce Development Universe
Forde, Margaret L.
Community College Journal, v72 n6 p32-35 Jun-Jul 2002
Community college leaders recognize that being at the center of the economic and workforce development universe brings many privileges, but there are also challenges and consistent demands for accountability. The center of such a universe can be an unstable place unless there are talented and committed individuals at the core who share the same vision and who are willing to share time, talent and resources to achieve the goal of success. Meanwhile, until the center core stakeholder group is solidly established throughout the colleges and within all workforce and economic development programs, community college leaders will continue to seek new talent and new alliances to responsibly address the economic and workforce challenges that lie ahead.
