It is commonplace practice in an increasing number of business schools to invite former or current executives to teach full-semester master of business administration courses. The authors offer their opinions regarding the significant differences between core academic and executive faculty in terms of perceptions of education and knowledge in general, views on teaching, and contributions that can they make to students and institutions. The authors also provide a list of practical suggestions for deriving benefits from synergies and tensions among executive and academic faculty. (Contains 1 table.)
