Cobra Strikes! High-Performance Car Inspires Students, Markets Program
Jenkins, Bonita
Tech Directions, v68 n3 p13-15 Oct 2008
Nestled in the Lower Piedmont region of upstate South Carolina, Piedmont Technical College (PTC) is one of 16 technical colleges in the state. Automotive technology is one of its most popular programs. The program features an instructive, motivating activity that the author describes in this article: building a high-performance car. The Cobra Project, which allowed students of PTC to build a 1965 Cobra replica, was started in the late October 2006 and was completed by the students during the summer of 2007.
