A useful and effective approach to integrating cultural sensitivity and evidence-based practice is the development and dissemination of Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) program. The program is focused on improving ongoing local community engagement, and since many schools have ethnically and culturally heterogeneous environments, the program's flexibility allows it to address trauma for students from a variety of different communities.
