Test the Spellings Commission's Assumptions

In this article, the author states that it is hard to argue with much of the report from the national Commission on the Future of Higher Education. Many of its conclusions and recommendations echo criticisms that have been leveled at higher education for years, and others borrow from reforms already underway on various campuses. However, some of the assumptions upon which the Spellings Commission report is based need further examination.
