Thompson, John D.
Science Teacher, v69 n5 p30-32 May 2002
Digital cameras are a piece of technology routinely used by students. To demonstrate the camera's use as a scientific instrument, the author developed an exercise to challenge students' scientific creativity and provide an experience in the scientific research process. Students designed and carried out experiments to determine the distance from the object to the camera when a digital image was recorded. This activity also served as a means of presenting guidelines for writing laboratory reports and using spreadsheets to analyze data. (Contains 2 figures.)
