Using Focus Groups to Learn about My Wiki
Davidson, Merrie
Computers in Libraries, v28 n1 p16-19, 47-48 Jan 2008
Knowing that some students appreciate their library's value and want to contribute to its new developments, the author sought to generate discussion about her library to know how her library patrons use the internet. At first, she created a blog, but after that attracted few responses, she built a wiki instead, to invite more student interaction. To ensure that would do the trick, she held two focus groups to ask her students what they thought of blogs and wikis and how they used them. She also asked questions pertaining to their library and internet use. This article describes the insights she gained from her focus groups.
