For over one hundred years, the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) has influenced music education and the music education profession. This article offers a brief overview of MENC's history from before its founding to its latest efforts. Of course, everything that MENC has been a part of cannot be included in a single article--these are just a few of the highlights of a long and productive century.
