The Instant I Knew I Was Not Meant to Be an Elementary Librarian: Confessions of a High School Librarian
Hoppe, Kelly M.
Library Media Connection, v26 n2 p38-39 Oct 2007
Some may think being a school librarian requires the same talents and skills at all grade levels. The author, having a masters in library science, thought she could handle any library-related issue no matter what the patron age. In this article, she describes three distinct moments from her first day as an elementary librarian which made her realize she was never meant to be an elementary librarian. Her passion is working with older students and dealing with everything that it entails--the good, the bad, and the funny. Every day in a high school library is always a new adventure and she's content to stick with the moody, temperamental, fantastic high school student.
