UCLA Community College Bibliography: Nursing Education and Community Colleges
Liu, Amy
Community College Journal of Research and Practice, v31 n9 p751-759 Sep 2007
The references presented in this bibliography provide an overview of recent scholarship concerning associate degree nursing students, faculty, and pedagogy at community colleges. Included in this bibliography are studies that incorporate a variety of methodologies ranging from quasi-experimental, case study, and naturalistic inquiry to correlation and regression analysis. Community colleges enroll the largest number of nursing students each year and therefore, important issues of retention, academic performance, student learning, and faculty pedagogy warrant further study. Along with these areas, the research listed here addresses minority and nontraditional nursing students, faculty and student transfer, program management, and the use of technology and gaming in teaching. These citations provide an ideal starting point for additional personalized research on nursing education and community colleges.
