Today computer music is the dominant form of reproduced music and computers are widely available in the home and in science laboratories. The advent of new technology prompts us to rethink not only how we teach, but also what we teach. In this article I present a possible new approach to the teaching of sound based around these new technologies. (Contains 7 figures and 1 footnote.)
