My Computer Romance
Campbell, Gardner
EDUCAUSE Review, v42 n5 p12-14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 Sep-Oct 2007
In this article, the author relates the big role of computers in his life as a writer. The author narrates that he has been using a computer for nearly twenty years now. He relates that computers has set his writing free. When he started writing, he was just using an electric typewriter. He also relates that his romance with computers is also a story of his literacy. Faculty owes it to their students to not only understand computers but to delight in them and learn within them. When students see their teachers' learning blossom within a "computer romance," they will listen to them when they are told to use these tools more wisely themselves. A detailed description of how computers evolved over the years is also presented in this article. (Contains 7 notes.)
