In fall 2002, Clif Mims was awarded the ECT Foundation's Strohbehn Internship for the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Convention in Dallas, Texas. In this article, Mims reflects about what the award has meant to his participation within AECT and to his career. He says that the internship initially provided him with all the access, behind the scenes pass during the 2002 convention to gain first-hand experience in the areas that interested him. He was able to become acquainted with individuals who shared common teaching and research interests, as well as those in leadership positions that he might someday wish to pursue. His time as an intern showed him that AECT encourages its membership to become actively involved in the association. On the other hand, ECT President Addie Kinsinger reports on the events that took place at the 2006 ECT Foundation Convention. The theme for the ECT Foundation at the 2006 convention was "A Celebration of Achievement," in recognition of the many awesome volunteers who are found working in all facets of AECT.
