Higher Education in Russia in the Light of Market Reforms

How is the system of higher education going to develop in the future? What are the prospects of the development of nonstate institutions of higher learning? These are the questions being asked today by politicians, scientists, and educators, according to the author. In this article, the author states, that there can be no doubt that the strategic direction of the development will be determined by the general course of the political reforms. But while there is every reason to say that Russia will proceed more rapidly on the path of market transformations, everyone is concerned about how to maintain achievements made in the field of education. In addition, the author states that the nonstate institutions keep close track of all psychological and pedagogical innovations so that they can adopt them in their own teaching process and raise their ratings in the eyes of the Ministry and the public.
