Auditing and Evaluating Quality: Questions and Problems
Vostrikov, A.
Russian Education and Society, v46 n2 p89-95 Feb 2004
For many Russian universities, improving the quality of education has become a central problem. Colleges and universities that have traditionally enjoyed high academic authority are not especially concerned about it; they are more concerned about the problems of financing and their own development. But for relatively young educational institutions that realize that a high level of conducting scientific research and student training alone will guarantee them a worthy place in Russia's university community, questions of improving quality are vital. This article examines the quality of education in Russia and the efforts of Novosibirsk Technical University to improve the quality of education and the institution's work as a whole.
