Multimedia Makes Its Mark
Steelman, Jane D.
Learning & Leading with Technology, v33 n1 p16-18 Sep 2005
High-quality multimedia products make use of technology to further the understanding of a topic in ways that traditional media cannot accomplish. This article describes the use of multimedia in collaborative student projects dealing with an area of study in the standard curriculum for their state or country. The projects facilitated the integration of many subjects, including science, math, language arts, and art. Teachers involved in these projects stated that the students gained knowledge and applied critical thinking skills when working on their projects, and that involvement in the projects gave students an audience, a purpose, and a direction.
