School counselors can be key players in the school reform movement. Working in an environment with strong administrative direction and support, school counselors can deliver a school counseling program that enhances the academic success of all students. By providing a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program, counselors can successfully answer the question, "How are our students different because of what counselors do?" This article poses a number of specific questions relating to the responsiveness of a school's counseling program in meeting student needs. Schools that can answer a majority of the questions affirmatively may apply to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) for the RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) designation. This designation recognizes school counseling programs for aligning themselves with a nationally accepted model by effectively enabling all students to enjoy academic achievement and success.
