This article explains the top ten reasons why teachers should work with their library media specialists: (1) Improving test scores and enhancing student academic achievement; (2) Easing teacher workload; (3) Providing emotional support to teachers; (4) Advising teachers on copyright laws and plagiarism; (5) Helping students with search strategies and distillation of information; (6) Selecting appropriate curriculum material; (7) Familiarizing students and teachers with the library resources; (8) Integrating material into interdisciplinary curriculum units; (9) Recommending current books to promote reading for enjoyment and literacy; and (10) Providing students with equal access to the Internet and other materials needed for their schoolwork.
