Comprehensive School-Based Violence Prevention Training: A Developmental-Ecological Training Model
D'Andrea, Michael
Journal of Counseling and Development, v82 n3 p277 Sum 2004
Counselors have a professional and ethical responsibility to deal with the complex and pervasive forms of violence that are manifested in our society. This article provides a description of a theoretical training model that was used to build comprehensive violence prevention programs in 4 elementary schools in Hawaii. Data generated from an evaluation of this project suggest that the training model outlined in this article is a useful way for counselors to foster the development and implementation of comprehensive violence prevention programs in school settings.
