"Let Me Tell You a Story": Teacher Lore and Preservice Teachers.

Asserts that using teacher lore in methods courses offers students benefits that might not be addressed through more traditional means, noting that teacher narratives provoke and challenge habitual perceptions that preservice teachers often have as they enter the classroom. Teacher stories can help them see connections between what they believe about good pedagogy and what they have experienced as students in the years prior to their starting to teach. (SM)
