Using an educational ideology and curriculum design perspective, a British initiative to promote nurses' lifelong learning was analyzed. The program creates a clash between romanticist and revisionist ideology. From the perspective of Beattie's fourfold curriculum model, it fails to acknowledge the uniqueness of nursing knowledge, the field's humanistic principles, and integral processes such as reflection.
